Colorado Gaming Association
Colorado gaming taxes support diverse economic development projects in the State of Colorado. During 2008, gaming tax dollars were allocated as follows to these important state programs:
- Over $28 million to the Colorado State Historical Society
- $20 million to the Colorado Tourism Promotion Fund
- More than $14 million to the Colorado Department of Transportation
- $6.5 million to the Local Government Limited Gaming Impact Fund
- $4 million to Colorado's Clean Energy Fund
- Over $3 million to the New Jobs Incentive Cash Fund
- $1.5 million to the State Council on the Arts Fund
- More than $600,000 for the Film Incentives Cash Fund
In addition, the Cities of Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek, as well as Gilpin and Teller County, received over $22 million dollars to improve infrastructure and cover gaming impacts such as fire, police and community services in the gaming locales.
